What’s New on Gugu: October 25, 2019

While we took a brief hiatus due to our Working Mother Registry + Giveaways (if you haven’t checked them out, there are some AWESOME giveaways on our blog), we are back at it in full swing this week for What’s New on Gugu. Instead of highlighting 5 new items this week, I’m back with 10 items that have launched (or will be launching) in the baby market. UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Cruz V2: UPPAbaby has updated their classic Cruz (single) and Vista (convertible) strollers for 2020! Both strollers are getting updated suspension –hello easier push!—as well as new colors/fabric options. The Cruz is also getting bigger wheels, a downsized fold, and a larger seat while the Vista will be seeing a no rethread harness and a larger canopy. These are expected to be released in February 2020!

Skip Hop Feeding Line and Convertible High Chair: Skip Hop has launched both their feeding line and their Sit-to-Step High Chair! Great for infants and toddlers alike, this high chair reclines for easy bottle feeding, slides right up to the table, and turns into a toddler step stool. The feeding line is full of must have essentials, great for feeding at home or on the go.

Tranquilo Products: Looking for a solution to help soothe baby when nothing seems to be working?! Look no further than Tranquilo! Their portable vibrating mat helps mimic the sounds from mom’s womb, instantly helping calm baby. The baby soothe massager is also great for use at home or on the go. Amazon Prime (especially Amazon Family): Amazon was, and still is, my go-to to order everything from groceries to books without having to take the kids out on stressful shopping trips!
Crockpot: I know this may sound counter-intuitive. However, the ability to set up a meal before leaving for work and come back to prepared food is absolutely amazing!
Tote that doubles as a diaper bag: What no one tells you is that carrying too many bags plus baby is borderline impossible. Instead, I found tote bags that could serve as diaper bags too, like this Allyn tote.
HelloFresh: This is a great meal delivery service for those days when you just need it all together to cook a quick meal.

I love the OmieBox Bento Lunchbox, we have it in blue, green and pink for each of my kids.
I found this calendar on etsy and we have a family meeting every night (or try to ) to review the children’s activities for the next day. We got it custom made to have all 5 of us on there (me, my husband and each of our 3 kids).
I think the food box delivery services are great. We only have a local one here in Hawaii, but you could use any national one to sub in. Very helpful for new parents who are overwhelmed with caring for a newborn.

Lunch Box Inserts: Love these lunch box inserts that make getting out the door with a healthy lunch so much easier. The little containers have it all spaced out so you just add fruits, snacks, veggies and a sandwich or leftovers in and you’re out the door. No messing with a ton of little containers and all their lids!
Google Home: This little guy does everything. Helps with homework when I get stumped, plays all our favorite songs for dance parties, knows the answer random trivia questions, provides background sound effects for bedtime stories and sets timers for time out. Plus I keep a running to-do list and can easily ask google to add things to the list before I forget or a kid distracts me!
Welly First Aid Kits: This is a new one but has been a lifesaver for our pool bag and I’m now going to add one to my car. It’s full of everything you need and nothing you don’t. Bandages, ointment, hand sanitizer and hydrocortisone. It comes in a really cute tin that you can easily stash in any bag. You’re ready to patch up a boo boo no matter where you are.

Ergobaby Carrier for toddlers: My Ergobaby carrier is THE best. I’m a firm believer in babywearing and people generally stop when you hit toddlerhood. But the Ergobaby is safe to use up to 45lbs and you can wear it multiple ways. Now that my son is a toddler, I wear him like a backpack when he’s feeling fussy and I still have things to get done. It quiets him and leaves me hands-free.

Kindle Fire: The Kindle Fire is the best. You can put safeguards so they aren’t all over the internet and in unsafe places. I load ours with educational apps so I don’t feel bad when I have to put them in front of a screen to get some things done.

My favorite products are the Melissa and Doug reusable sticker pads and other craft packs I can use to keep my kiddos entertained if I have to take an unexpected phone call for work during a day when I’m home with them. They work great!
As a working mom, delivery services like Instacart and Amazon Prime Now have been lifesavers for me. If I am getting ready to leave for the day and I see we’re out of milk and other food items, I order groceries through one of these services. It comes to my home within two hours and saves me time and stress and gives me peace of mind.

What’s New on Gugu: Chicago Baby Show Edition

We were off to the Chicago Baby Show this week to see what’s new in the baby world! The Gugu Guru team loved learning all about the latest and greatest items for babies and toddlers. Below is our wrap up of some of our favorite new finds. Some of these are brand new to the market and some may be familiar faces. We LOVE hearing about new products, so please never hesitate to send our way!

CoralUV Sanitizer and Dryer: We have been so excited about the launch of the CoralUV since we met one of the Co-founders last year at the Chicago Baby Show! You will fall in love with this machine while sanitizing and drying bottles, pacifiers, and teethers but it won’t end there! Continue to fall in love over and over again as you sanitize small toys, sippy cups, remotes, and anything else that comes in contact with your little ones. It’s also great for Mom’s makeup brushes! Now that they have formally launched, we know this will be a favorite appliance of parents for years to come!

Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller Wagon: We mentioned this new stroller wagon by Evenflo earlier this year when it was announced. It has now launched and is gaining fame by the minute! This is the perfect solution to older toddlers and young children who no longer want to ride in the stroller. Each seat will hold up to 55 lbs and there are both car seat adapters and toddler seats available. We also love the fact that this can have either a wagon ‘pull’ or a stroller ‘push.’

Larktale Strollers – chit chat and coast: Launching earlier this year, Larktale brings two new strollers to the US market! The chit chat is a great lightweight option, perfect for travel or that everyday on-the-go family. The frame is also made from recyclable fiber-infused nylon, which is both eco-friendly and incredibly strong. M1 Carrier by Lascal: A new fantastic find by one of our favorite companies, Regal Lager. The M1 Carrier is truly an adaptable carrier that has been designed with both baby and parent in mind. Made of completely breathable fabric, you will also be able to use this with one hand. No more struggling to get your little one in/out of the carrier alone! Olábaby Transitional Sippy Lid: Olábaby bottles remain some of our top recommendations, especially for parents who want eco-friendly without the weight of glass. When we stopped by their booth at the Chicago Baby Show, they had lots of fun things to show us. We were most excited about their Transitional Sippy Lid, which will attach to your current Olábaby bottles and help ease your babe’s transition. No more struggling with new spoutless cups or straw cups for months. This is a great, budget-friendly investment!

Lalo: The brains behind both ‘The Daily’ (stroller) and ‘The Chair’ were showcasing all of their products’ features this year. We loved taking a stroll with the Daily and seeing how much we could really stuff in that large (adjustable) basket. We also were so intrigued at how easy ‘The Chair’ is to clean. Plus we love that it adjusts to a toddler size chair. We can’t wait to see what else comes out of the Lalo team this next year! bets & emy Baby Wipes: These wipes will change your baby’s life if s/he suffers from sensitive skin! Made of 99.9% water and 0.1% citrus extract, these wipes will keep your little one free of painful diaper rash. However, different than other natural wipes on the market, these are textured and large, meaning you can actually use less wipes to clean up all of lifes ‘big’ messes! They are even soft enough to use on your face AND (fun fact from the owner) they will take off makeup!

Nuna Exec: Although this seat isn’t expected to launch in October, we loved seeing it this past weekend! Exclusive to Nordstrom, this seat will truly be the only seat you’ll ever need. Starting as a rear facing infant-compatible car seat, it features a built in anti-rebound bar, infant insert, and easy to install capabilities. When you’re ready to forward face, simply turn the seat around for your little one. As your kiddo gets older, this will even turn into a seat belt booster, with easy-to-store panels for the harness.

We can’t take care of our babes without taking care of ourselves (easier said than done!).
