Baby Safety Month Tips

by Abby Ludwig 8 Comments

Baby Safety Month is here! As parents, safety is our number one priority, especially as it relates to the world of baby products and gear. We are always looking to find products that will help enrich our children’s lives while making things just a little bit easier! In honor of Baby Safety Month, we have partnered with MAM as well as other brands that join us in keeping our babes and tots safe! These brands all keep safety at the top of their priority list, even as they create and update their product lines. Take a look at some of their favorite safety tips here:

Tip 1: Safe Sleep ABC’s

2016 was the last time the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) updated their safe sleep recommendations. Many parents are unknowingly putting their little one’s down without following the safe sleep ABC’s: Alone. Back. Crib (or bassinet). We recommend an easy to use swaddle, like Love To Dream’s Swaddle UPTM from birth so you don’t have to worry about baby breaking out of a swaddle blanket.  Choose size according to baby’s weight, not age. Stop swaddling as soon as baby shows signs of rolling and transition to arms-free sleep, like the Swaddle UPTM 50/50 Transition Bag. Check out our favorite swaddle, Love to Dream’s safe sleep page, for more safe sleep tips!

For more of Love to Dream’s products, take a look here!

Tip 2: Crib Safety

Piggy-backing off of the Safe Sleep ABC’s, your crib set up is also extremely important in creating a safe sleep space. Keep it clean and simple. Remove any stuffed animals, blankets, or anyting with soft surfaces that could possibly block baby’s airway during sleep. Provide a firm mattress – like those from our friends at Colgate – with a fitted sheet. Do not put a blanket on the baby or in the crib and again, be sure to lay your baby on his/her back.

Tip 3: Pacifier Safety

Consider pacifier usage when placing baby down for sleep and remember that the pacifier may not be reinserted once baby falls asleep. Pacifier use is shown to reduce the risk of SIDS. MAM supports the AAP published guidelines for pacifier usage. Check them out here: https://bit.ly/AAPInfantSleepSafety

For more information about pacifiers and how they reduce the risk of SIDS, visit https://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/116/5/1245

Tip 4: Wifi/Monitor Usage

Many parents use a monitor, which gives them peace of mind as their little one adjusts to his/her new surroundings. When setting up your monitor, be mindful of all cords! Keep them more than 3ft away from your child. As wifi monitors/nursery products become more popular, it is also important to keep the wifi products in your nursery secure from web intruders. Do NOT use wifi products that have default credentials or that run extra programs, otherwise known as “backdoors.” And only use wifi products with secure encryption. For more information on wifi monitor safety, check out the features on the Nanit Pro!

Tip 5: Helping Baby Sleep

The dreaded first cold often pops up at some point in the first year. Unfortunately, there aren’t so many ways you can help your little one feel better. However, cool-mist humidifiers are a safe and natural way to thin baby’s mucus when congested. They also alleviate symptoms that may be preventing your little one from getting a good night’s rest such as dry skin, bloody noses, sore throat and dry cough.

For some great humidifier and air purifier options, check out our friends at Crane-USA!

Tip 6: Out and About with your Carrier

Carriers are extremely helpful for new (and/or experienced) parents. They provide you with the option to be close to baby but still have your hands-free. This is especially helpful when you have an older child –i.e. toddler—running around the house. To ensure that you are using your carrier safely, keep baby visible and kissable! By keeping your little one’s head at a kissable height when in the carrier, you can easily monitor baby’s airway. Plus, the snuggles are LIFE!

Check out carriers by Baby K’tan here.

Tip 7: Toy Safety

When your little one is up and ready to play, it’s important to keep a close eye on his/her activities. Watch out for small parts as little ones tend to explore first with their mouths. Always double check the seams of soft toys to make sure no stitches have popped loose. Stuffing is a choking hazard. Opt for high-quality, well-made toys that will hold up to hours of daily use.

We love the toy selections from our friends at Mouse Loves Pig.

Tip 8: Car Seat Safety

While all car seats have to pass certain safety tests and standards, there are two main components to car seat safety: fitting the seat into your vehicle and fitting your child into the seat. A correctly installed car seat should not move more than 1” in any direction when testing tightness at the belt path. Always make sure you have the right seat for your child’s age and measurements, and ensure the harness is snugly tightened so that you cannot pinch the material over the child’s shoulders. For more information on car seat safety and for help with car seat installation, visit our friends at Tot Squad!

General Baby Safety

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) sponsors Baby Safety Month to help educate parents and caregivers as they go through product selection for their children. Always remember to read product labels and warnings before using any product. Continue to inspect your children’s items as they experience wear and tear over time and look out for any product recalls. Visit JPMA’s Baby Safety Month Page for even more tips and tricks!

The Village Reviews: Nanit Pro

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Nanit understands sleep is vital for both babies and parents. Parents can rest easy knowing the Nanit Pro is tracking and analyzing their baby’s breathing, sleep schedule and pattern without having electronics attached to their body. Nanit Pro provides a morning summary with tips to improve baby’s sleep habits. Our Gugu Guru Village Dad, David, tested the Nanit Pro and provided us with his thoughts.

We started using Nanit Pro with our three-month-old. It sure proved to keep our minds at ease while she was asleep at night. The Nanit’s monitoring system is one of a kind working to inform the overworked parents of movements or change in breathing without us having to enter her room. The app itself provides very useful information on the amount of time the baby has slept and how long it took the child to sleep. We are sure that this information will be essential when it comes to sleep training our baby.

Nanit Plus

As parents raising children in the smartphone era with it constantly by our side, we loved the fact that the user-friendly Nanit app actually turns our phones into the actual parent unit of the monitor instead of having to keep track of an actual monitoring device. We initially thought we had to keep the Nanit app opened all night in order to hear our baby, but we discovered the background noise feature on the app, which allows us to turn off the screen and still have audio of the child’s room. The Nanit app also displays room temperature and humidity levels of the child’s room too! No more guessing if it’s too hot or too cold. Did I mention that this baby monitor has unlimited range?! As long as the camera unit is connected to wifi, we could check on our baby when we were at work, out running an errand or just having a well-deserved date night.
Nanit Plus
The camera itself has many great features. It has a clear two-way audio feature, nature and white noise sounds, and what we love the most is the night light feature on top of the camera! It helps light up the room just enough for the half-asleep parents to make our way into the room without having to turn on the light. We just can’t say enough good things about the Nanit and wish we would have had it for our first baby.
Nanit Plus

Thank you to Nanit for providing the Nanit Pro for review. We appreciate our Gugu Village Dad, David, for providing us with his honest review. For additional information on the Nanit-Plus, click here!

What’s New on Gugu: July 3, 2019

by Abby Ludwig Leave a Comment

I have found a great lineup of products this week. A couple new pieces of technology, which will help with both feeding and sleep are new finds. We also took a look at the newest travel stroller to hit the market. Plus, there are some excellent accessories to help make breastfeeding more efficient.

For a number of our other favorites, please check out our Explore page!

Mammaway Freeze It Flat

Mammaway Freeze It Flat: An innovative way to freeze your breastmilk stash! Using breastmilk storage bags, simply pump your milk, place into the Freeze it Flat, and stick in the freezer. Once frozen, your stored milk will take up significantly less space. Great for working moms who have to pump at the office!

BlueSmart Mia2

BlueSmart Mia2: A new baby gift for your technologically saavy friend. The BlueSmart Mia2 will automatically record what your baby eats (and for how long) at each feeding. Pairing with an app via Bluetooth, you will no longer have to manually keep track of each feeding. Plus, it is compatible with most baby bottles!

Hatch Baby Rest Plus

Hatch Baby Rest Plus: One of our favorite sound machine/nightlights has now received an upgrade. Pair with their app to create a truly essential product for sleep that will grow with your little one. Now an audio monitor as well as a digital clock, this is a must have for any nursery.

Larken X Bra

Larken X Bra: Made of moisture-wicking, ultrasoft fabric, this nursing/pumping bra will be a great addition to your wardrobe. It allows you to pump hands-free without having to undress or change and is comfy enough to keep on all day long. There are also no snaps, zippers, or tags, making it far more comfortable as your size fluctuates.

Bugaboo Ant

Bugaboo Ant Travel Stroller: Bugaboo has entered the carry-on travel stroller game! The Ant is the only reversible seat travel stroller on the market and it offers great suspension. It has a height adjustable handle, a near-flat recline for newborns, and an adjustable seat height for taller kids. Available for pre-order now!

Please note that these opinions are 100% my own and I have not received any products in exchange for placement in What’s New on Gugu!

What’s New on Gugu: June 18, 2019

by Abby Ludwig Leave a Comment

Last week, Gugu Guru took a trip to the Biggest Baby Shower in Chicago to check out some of the newest products. Below are some top finds from the Biggest Baby Shower from some brands that we know and love.

For a number of our other favorites, please check out our Explore page!

Momkindness Carry-All Tote: Although we featured this in our ‘Diaper Bags to Check Out’ post, I couldn’t help but mention it here as well. Three bags in one, the Momkindness Carry-All Tote is a tote, organizer insert, and a clutch! Great for a big trip to the zoo, or a walk to the park when you just need your essentials, the Momkindness bag is a trendy and stylish accessory. Plus, we love their mission to give back. Momkindness donates a portion of their proceeds to ‘Every Mother Counts,’ an organization that strives to bring quality maternity care to every mother.

Ilado Maternity Jewelry: Dating back to Mayan culture, maternity necklaces were originally used to help sooth newborns. Ilado’s maternity bell necklace creates a serene bell noise, which will soothe both mom and baby. A great gift for that mom-to-be who has ‘everything’ to help signify this special time of her life!

Baby Hearmuffs: Available in a variety of colors, we loved ‘hearing about’ (pun intended) the new line of ear protection from Lucid Audio. Great for sporting events, 4th of July fireworks, and other loud activities, these will grow with your kids! We also love the soothe button, which allows you to communicate with your child while still offering some sound protection.

Born Free Product Line: We love the new line by Born Free, which includes a number of great products. Born Free believes that parents should be able to include baby in daily family life. They also believe that your products should be high-quality, budget-friendly and stylish! These items are easy to use day-to-day and are all multi-purpose. We love this line!

Bundle of Dreams: These mattresses are an excellent choice for eco-friendly parents. The lightweight mattress, made from recyclable materials also has an organic cotton cover. It is extremely easy to lift (for midnight sheet changes!) and can easily be flipped over to complete your toddler bed. It will truly grow with your little one!

Please note that these opinions are 100% my own and I have not received any products in exchange for placement in What’s New on Gugu!

10 Sleep Tips for Babies and Toddlers You Don’t Want to Miss

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

It seems we get countless questions about baby sleep gear and habits on our social media, so we turned to Mahaley Patel, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant to share her top 10 sleep tips for babies and toddlers – Mahaley will be coming on the Gugu Guru Instagram for a takeover on May 7th, so leave any questions you may have in the comments below! And stay tuned for a giveaway on Instagram where you can win a consult with Mahaley and other baby sleep items and books! Take it away, Mahaley…

I wish I knew then what I know now: sleep is a journey. The emotional high of feeling like maybe you might have finally figured it out, and then, out of nowhere, it all falls apart. If you are struggling to get your child to sleep, you are not alone. Here are ten sleep tips to help your little one be the best sleeper he or she can be.

Routine, routine, routine: It is never too early to start a bedtime routine. Before you do anything else, you need to establish a routine. Bedtime routines are a critical asset for babies and toddlers (and hey, adults too). Examples of bedtime routines include a bath, infant massage, reading books, and singing songs. It does not need to be super long. After a bath, my daughter’s routine is about 15 minutes long. I don’t recommend anything stimulating (no TV or toys with tons of lights and sounds). The goal is to help them wind down before bed. Same rules apply for naptime, but of shorter duration. For example, we start my daughter’s naptime by going into her room, turning off all the lights except for a small lamp, and reading a book or two (or ten) before putting her to sleep.

Set up a sleep environment that is conducive to sleep: For families with babies, familiarize yourself with the AAP guidelines on safe sleep. Safe sleep is imperative, and I cannot stress it strongly enough. I’m a huge fan of blackout curtains and white noise machines. Ideal room temperature is between 68-72 degrees. Set yourself up for success when it comes to your child’s sleep environment.

80/20 rule: I often get asked: “Will I have to be home for my child’s naps forever?” The answer is no! I never want my families to feel that they are depriving themselves of family outings or of seeing friends because they feel “nap trapped.” When you are first implementing a new sleep plan, it is best if you can do it at a time when you do not have a lot going on. You are trying to establish a new routine, so consistency is important. Once those healthy sleep habits have been established, you can loosen the reigns a bit. That’s when I tell my families to follow the 80/20 rule. If your child can spend 80% of the time in their regular sleep environment, that’s great! You are doing really well. The other 20% of the time you can bend the rules for family outings, social events, or trips.

Don’t ditch the crib too early: Some of the most common phone calls I get are from parents of toddlers who transitioned to a toddler bed and are now coming out of their room at all hours of the night. Ideally, we do not want to make this transition to the toddler bed before the age of three. Why? It’s too much freedom that they are not able to handle. I know that you’re thinking “What if my child climbs out?” That’s not necessarily a reason to switch to a toddler bed. There are options you can try to get them to stay in their crib before making the switch. My favorite way is to keep your baby or toddler in a sleep sack for as long as possible. They make toddler sizes too. My daughter is two-and-a-half and still in one. She knows she’s not going anywhere!

Get an “ok-to-wake” clock: For older babies and toddlers who are struggling with early morning wakings, this is a great asset for parents. The idea is that the light from the clock is off when it’s time to sleep (some have a dim red light instead) and then turns green at a specific time in the morning (a time that you set). Once it’s green, you can get your child, or they can come out of their bed and start their day. It’s a great tool to establish an appropriate morning wake time that works for your family.

A fellow sleep consultant and friend of mine, Michelle Glenn, The Baby Sleep Engineer, is a wizard with ok-to-wake clocks. Check out her video to find out the perfect recipe for introducing the clock so that you don’t become one of the many parents who say “It just didn’t work for my child. They refused to wait until it turned green.”

Consistency: Consistency is the key to success in getting your child to sleep well. You can read every book written on this subject, but if you are not consistent, you will likely not see results. I always advise my clients, when reviewing different methods, that consistency is so much more important than the method you choose to use. There is no magic method. There are a lot of great options. Pick one that you know you can stick with, because consistency is what will create results.

TV: For families with toddlers who watch TV, be mindful of when they are watching TV and how much screen time they are getting. I recommend no less than 60-90 minutes between when TV ends, and bedtime begins. If you have a child watching TV right before bed, consider moving their TV time earlier. The AAP provides screen time recommendations for children based on their age.

Early bedtimes: Anyone who has worked with me or knows me knows that I am a huge proponent of early bedtimes. Early bedtimes are your best friend when it comes to crap nap days, nap transitions, and early wakeups. The first thing I ask when parents tell me that their child wakes up at 5 a.m. is what their child’s bedtime is. More often than not, their child is going to bed too late. Bedtimes for babies and toddlers should not be later than 8 p.m., but I often see the best results when bedtime is no later than 7:30 p.m.

There is a big myth that if you put your kid to bed earlier, they will wake up earlier. Wrong! Kids who go to bed earlier who are struggling with early mornings wakeups or short naps often sleep until their usual time or sleep later. I see it happen all the time, and I have seen it first-hand with my daughter. Do not be afraid of a 5:30 or 6 p.m. bedtime if your child is struggling with a nap transition, early morning wakings, or short naps.

Nap transitions: Let your child lead the way. Do not force the transition from 3-2, 2-1, or 1-0 naps. Give it at least two weeks of your child skipping a nap before you consider moving them down to fewer naps. Most babies transition to two naps around eight months of age and most toddlers drop to one nap around 15-18 months. When your toddler stops napping altogether, consider giving them an hour of quiet time a day. It can still be restful for them (and for you) even though they are not sleeping.

Ask for help: There is a plethora of information out there, and it can be hard to navigate when you are a sleep-deprived parent. For me, the depths of sleep deprivation made it very hard for me to see what we needed to be doing differently to help my daughter sleep better. I blamed myself, and I thought I was a horrible parent because she was not getting the sleep she needed. Reaching out to a sleep consultant was the best thing I ever did. I had a plan that I could stick to, and it took away the guesswork for me. Our consultant gave us a light at the end of the tunnel when I honestly thought I would never feel like myself again. If you are struggling, please reach out and get the guidance and support you need. Sleep is HARD, and you are not alone.

Meet the WeeSleep Sleep Consultant: Anne Del Valle

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

SLEEP. The mere word is soothing to our soul. Since it’s something we dream about, we were beyond excited to meet master WeeSleep consultant, Anne Del Valle. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but available to all families via virtual consulting sessions, Anne guarantees sleep in 10 days or less. Kind of amaZzzing.

While the “Cry It Out” method is practiced by many, Anne, who is part of the acclaimed WeeSleep—founded by the amazing Janey Reilly—believes that every parent should choose what’s right for their child. As a proud #weesleepdreamteam member, Anne’s approach to sleep coaching via WeeSleep is “customized, gentle, hands on, and affordable.”

We were able to sit down with Anne to explore her sleep strategy in greater detail, and we love what we heard.

“My passion and purpose when working with families is to educate and support them throughout the sleep coaching process. I focus on a proper assessment of a child’s sleep environment, schedule, nutrition, and sleep habits. I then customize a sleep plan that will ensure the child will learn to sleep independently, all while working closely with the parents.”

Even though there are countless books that encourage all different sleep coaching methods, we think this personalized practice could put many parents at ease during this challenging time. Having a one-on-one relationship with an expert is a game-changer, and after all, we’re talking about sleep. Not only is it vital for development for your babe, it’s super important for you as well. Sometimes we forget about ourselves once our littles meet the world, but parenting requires superhuman strength and energy (as you know).

If you’re ready to give the gift of sleep to your babe, yourself and your family (let’s be honest, it’s a family affair), check out Anne’s page on WeeSleep to learn more about her services, including her most popular package: The Rescue Me Virtual. Anne also offers free 15-minute phone consultations, so you might want to chat first to get a feel for her coaching style.

Wishing you the sweetest snoozes!

Baby’s First Gift: Colgate Mattress

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

With the holiday season upon us and gift giving in full swing, we want to chat about why a crib mattress is the ultimate baby’s first gift for the holidays; and, when we’re talking about crib mattresses, we always turn to Colgate Mattress. There are so many reasons we love and highly recommend Colgate Mattresses for parents and grandparents as a gift; as you know, the decision to pick out a standard crib mattress can be overwhelming for some parents, as not only is the mattress where baby will spend the majority of their time, but the crib has to be a safe and soothing place for baby to rest, play, grow, and learn.  If you are going to invest money into your baby’s special first holiday gift, a Colgate crib mattress is not only a gift for the baby, but for the family as a whole.

baby's first gift mattress Colgate

One of the reasons we’re such fans of Colgate Mattress as a gift for a new baby is that they are a family owned and operated company, as well as made in America. The Colgate Mattress Factory in Atlanta, Georgia has been family owned since 1955;  we’re huge fans of family owned businesses, and when you’re going to buy a big ticket item, such as a mattress, we always recommend going for the company with exceptional customer service! Colgate Mattresses are also a gift that keeps on giving, as Colgate mattresses are cleverly designed to accommodate baby as she transitions to the toddler phase with a simple flip of the mattress. One side is firm and supportive for infants while the other is slightly softer for toddler comfort. Plus, they are lightweight, so when it’s time to flip the mattress over, it’s as easy as can be.

Colgate Mattress are innovators when it comes to new sleep technologies as well. Their zenBaby Collection is designed with KulKote®, a groundbreaking water-based temperature-regulating technology that helps create a tranquil and secure, zen-like environment for baby to relax and sleep. When baby sleeps better at night, the whole house sleeps better too, which makes Colgate Mattresses a top present pick for baby’s first holiday. The  Colgate EverTrue™ Diamond Mattress along with its Celliant cover is innovative as the Celliant cover helps recycle baby’s body heat through a mix of thermo-reactive minerals. In fact, according to Colgate, people who use textiles made from Celliant® report greater energy, improved quality of life and heightened sense of wellbeing. This technology will also last the lifetime of the mattress. It won’t break down or wash out.

baby's first gift mattress

Give the gift of peace of mind this holiday season when you give a Colgate Mattress, as Colgate always chooses to use non-toxic barrier fabrics instead of harsh fire retardant chemicals to give parents peace of mind while not only meeting, but exceeding federal flammability standards. Colgate takes your baby’s safety incredibly seriously and they are the first mattress company to use natural coir fiber made from coconuts shell husks. And, you can rest easy knowing that all of Colgate’s crib mattresses carry the Greenguard GOLD certification.

Your baby’s crib mattress is the cornerstone of the nursery, as he or she spends so much time sleeping, lounging, and playing in their crib; invest in the perfect first holiday gift for your baby this year and give the gift of  safe and healthy sleep for your little one, which will keep your mind at peace – bringing health and happiness to your home for the holiday season, New Year, and beyond.

D.R.E.A.M. SAFE Sleep Practices from Colgate Mattress

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Following the D.R.E.A.M. SAFE sleep practices created by our friends at Colgate mattress will help protect your baby from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). According to the JPMA, each year in the United States there are approximately 3,500 Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID). These deaths occur among infants less than 1 year old and have no immediately obvious cause. Although the causes of death in many of these infants cannot be explained, statistics show that as many as 80-90 percent are the result of unsafe sleep practices.

D.R.E.A.M. SAFE sleep practices:

D ~ DO place baby on her back to sleep.
Always place your baby on his or her back to sleep, for naps and at night.
R ~ REMEMBER a FIRM crib mattress is always best.
Firmness aids in development of baby’s muscles and bones. Soft beds naturally give and contour which can impede a babies breathing and trap heat, which can also be dangerous.
E ~ ELIMINATE clutter.
Do not put anything soft, loose or fluffy in your baby’s sleep space. Only a fitted sheet, mattress pad or waterproof pad should be used under baby.
A ~ ALWAYS place baby in the crib to sleep.
Never place your baby to sleep on top of any soft surface. This includes adult beds, couches, pillows, cushions, comforters and sheepskins.
M ~ MONITOR air flow and temperature.
Make sure your baby doesn’t get too warm during sleep. Use lightweight sleep clothing and keep room temperature at what would be comfortable for a lightly-clothed adult. For newborns, consider swaddling.

By integrating these safe sleep habits, you will help ensure the safety of your baby every time they rest. For more safe sleep tips, please visit the JPMA’s Safe Sleep Center.

Celebrating Earth Month with Colgate Mattress

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

With Earth Day in April, it seemed like the perfect time to chat once again about a much loved standard crib mattress brand here on Gugu Guru, Colgate Mattresses. There are so many reasons we love and highly recommend Colgate Mattresses for parents; as you know, the decision to pick out a standard crib mattress can be overwhelming for some parents, as not only is the mattress where baby will spend the majority of their time, but the crib has to be a safe and soothing place for baby to rest, play, grow, and learn. Made in America, Colgate Mattress is a third-generation family-owned and operated company comprised of committed craftsmen who have been dedicated to manufacturing quality crib mattresses for over 60 years.

We’ve written extensively about why Colgate is a fantastic choice for your nursery in our Back to Sleep campaign, Innovative Sleep Products roundup, and as a Nursery Essential for Mother’s Day, plus we got to Meet the Makers Behind the Mattresses, but today we’re focusing on a very exciting new collection within the Colgate company, the zenBaby line of mattresses.

The zenBaby Collection from Colgate is their most innovative mattress line yet, as it is designed with KulKote®, a groundbreaking water-based temperature-regulating technology that helps create a tranquil and secure, zen-like environment for baby to relax and sleep.

The exclusive collection includes a Hybrid 2-in-1 with pocketed microcoils, a 2-Stage eco-classica™ foam mattress, and a Portable Crib Mattress – all made with KulKote® to ensure the most comfortable and “zen like” sleeping climate for baby; the zenBaby line of mattresses is the first and only crib mattress to feature this innovative sleep technology. Since we’re focusing on Earth month and being eco-friendly within the nursery, we wanted to point out that  that all three mattresses use premium eco-classica™ foam, are entirely made in the USA and are CertiPure and Greenguard gold certified – incredibly safe for baby, bringing you, as a new parent, peace of mind.

When you’re buying a Colgate mattress, you are investing in your child’s future of restful sleep, as the zenBaby™ Hybrid 2-in-1 is a versatile, dual-firmness, infant-to-toddler transition crib mattress. The infant side features an extra-firm eco foam made with plant oils and coated with KulKote® for optimal temperature regulation and comfort. The toddler side features durable and supportive microcoils for added pressure relief, breathability and posture support.

We know many parents will love that the zenBaby Hybrid also features an ultra soft cotton blend cover with waterproof backing, and chemical-free rayon cloth flammability barrier; you can rest easy knowing your baby is sleeping on the safest mattress possible, and breathing in fresh air, free of any chemicals. Plus, all Colgate products are hypoallergenic, odorless and GREENGUARD® Gold & CertiPUR-US® certified safe for no harmful emissions. Colgate has always chosen to use non-toxic barrier fabrics instead of harsh fire retardant chemicals to give parents peace of mind while not only meeting, but exceeding federal flammability standards. Colgate takes your baby’s safety incredibly seriously and they are the first mattress company to use natural coir fiber made from coconuts shell husks.

Colgate is legendary for their commitment to exacting manufacturing standards of crafting safe crib and toddler mattresses. Colgate uses only the highest quality components, hand assembled right here in the USA because, as they say, “while many crib mattresses may look similar on the outside, we know it’s what’s on the inside that counts.” When it comes to your baby’s safety, especially regarding sleep, there are no compromises to be made, which is why Colgate is your one-stop-shop for your baby’s mattress needs, they’ve been providing parents peace of mind since they began in Atlanta in 1955, and have paved the way for setting the standard when it comes to your baby’s crib mattress.

Gugu Guru is so appreciative of our sponsors; thank you to Colgate Mattress for making this sponsored post possible.
