Real Moms Review: Eco-Friendly Mochi Teethers

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Japanese company, The People Toy Co., is known for creating innovative and fun products for babies and children. The Mochi line of teethers and toys are comprised of 51% food-grade rice and are free of harmful adhesives and paints. You can’t get more eco-friendly than that. As our Real Moms discovered, Mochi Toys provided hours of fun and teething relief!

From the minute we took the toys out of the package, my 9mo daughter favored them over the other toys in her basket. She was immediately drawn to the horn and loved surprising herself when she figured out how it makes noise. And the teething ring is also a big hit – the textures are a nice added touch. Both toys are easy to grip and chew, and they look nice too – I love the muted colors as opposed to loud/bright/primary like so many products out there. I’ll definitely be buying these as baby shower gifts and recommending them to friends! They are perfect for teething babies and I really love that they are made of rice and completely safe.
– Christine C., Mom to 7 Month-Old Daughter

When I received the Mochi teethers and started to read about the company I was very excited about the safe, eco-friendly teethers.  My son is 11 months old and is a late teether so he is constantly putting everything in his mouth. It was a relief to know that I could trust these toys in his mouth.  I was expecting to receive just a basic teething ring and wasn’t sure how interested he would be in it but I was excited when we got a trumpet that makes noise when you blow into it and a teething necklace.  At first, I was more excited about the trumpet than Mikey. When I first showed him how it worked he was actually afraid of the noise of the trumpet. However, after about three days of slowly reintroducing it, he warmed up to it and started playing with it himself. He is now having fun with it as a toy. -Denalee M., Mom to 13 Month-Old Son

We were generously gifted the People Toy Company, Mochi trumpet and building blocks to review and our little girl adores them.  In general, we try to get more green and less plastic toys so we really appreciate that the People Toy Company uses rice plastic! The innovative design uses 51% food grade rice and it has no toxic paints or adhesives, which is great because the trumpet and blocks immediately went into our baby’s mouth. Once I showed Mallary that the trumpet makes noise she wanted to start her own band! Fortunately for parents, it doesn’t make too loud of a toot and it’s not shrill either. Depending on if the baby is blowing in or out, it kind of sounds like a duck or quiet squeak! She picked it up very quickly and is so happy to play “music”!

Not only does Mallary enjoy blowing the trumpet but she has a great time smashing the block towers that I build for her. She also likes to bring the blocks from one place to another, place them in their original box or on her chair. There are several different shapes and sizes that are perfect for little hands. Mallary’s (8-month-old) nanny share buddy, drools and puts all the blocks in her mouth, and they both have fun shaking the rattles in the block set. It’s wonderful that the blocks are appropriate for a variety of ages. I’m looking forward to watching her build little houses in the next year. However, for now, she’s having way too much fun pretending to be Godzilla!

Thank you so much, Gugu Guru and People Toy Company for allowing me to review these colorful, environmentally friendly, and fun baby toys.
-Emily F., Mom to 14 Month-Old Daughter

Thank you so much for sending the Mochi Teether set for us to test. We have had a blast with the blocks. They were a hit from the get-go. My kiddo went straight for the rattles and ran around for a bit shaking them. The best part about trying them out was that for the first time my kiddo began building with me. I started stacking up some blocks and he joined in before knocking it all down. I’ve been keeping a couple of the columns near the changing pad since they have been super helpful keeping him calm and distracted during changes.

I also spent the last week visiting with several other similar age kiddos (5 months to 18 months) and they all loved them too. The parents all were curious about them (without me prompting them at all).

The trumpet has been well received too but due to the noise factor, it gets put away much of the time. My kiddo was pretty excited when he figured out how to work it.

Overall Mochi Toys have been a hit in our household and have been played with regularly since arriving.
-Laura S., Mom to 13 Month-Old Son

My one-year-old daughter thinks these blocks are wonderful! She loves to knock them over & they entertain her for a solid 7-10 minutes every time! The toy horn was a surprise for her to hear, & at first, she was scared of it, but after a few days she began to love it. She has even learned to blow the horn herself & thinks it’s so funny! I would definitely recommend these toys. It’s nice having the peace of mind knowing these are quality toys made from rice instead of harmful chemicals.
-Heather L., Mom to 11 Month-Old Daughter

Gugu Mom Picks from Molly’s Musings

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

We are so excited to have a guest post today from the adorable mama Molly Perdue from Molly’s Musings. She is on our blog today to list her top 10 favorite registry items that were selected for her by Gugu Concierge. You can swing over to her blog to get all of the details on how she’s using these products and why she loves them so much.

Now that I am officially a mom (almost two months in and can’t even believe it), I thought it was the perfect time to share some of the items that we have loved and that have saved our lives in these early weeks. Before having Lola, I was a complete novice when it came to baby items and the thought of registering for everything we would need (and you need a lot) completely overwhelmed me. The ladies at Gugu Guru completely saved me with their Gugu Concierge program!

They set me up with an industry expert who helped me build the exact registry that I needed. I first took a questionnaire and was then matched with a wonderful expert named Ginny from Your Milk Shoppe. We had a one hour consultation call and she got an idea of my style, must-have items and told me about items I might not have heard of that were newly released. Within a week, she had created a comprehensive amazing registry full of everything I wanted and didn’t know I needed. The whole process was AMAZING and saved me from hours of combing the internet for the best baby items.

Molly’s top 10 Registry Must-Haves:

  1. UPPAbaby VISTA and MESA Carseat
  2. DockATot
  3. 4moms mamaRoo
  4. Wildbird Ring Sling
  5. Fawn Design Diaper Bag
  6. My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow
  7. HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper and Sleepsack
  8. Copper Pearl Burp Cloths
  9. Bebe au Lait Car Seat Cover
  10. Milkies Milk-Saver

“If you are expecting and drowning in registry decisions, give Gugu Guru a try! I promise it will be worth it.”

Head to Molly’s blog to learn more about why she loves these products!

Safe WiFi Baby Monitors – How to Choose One

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Recently we polled our Gugu Guru users on topics they would like us to write about next. Overwhelmingly the response was that our community wants to learn about safe WiFi baby monitors – topics like how to choose one that can’t be hacked and general concerns about security and baby monitor vulnerabilities.  We needed a little help on this so we put together a list of common questions that we are asked by our users and then had a chat with our friends at Evoz.

First, what is a baby monitor?
The concept of a baby monitor is generally pretty simple — it’s a microphone, with or without a camera so that you can listen or watch your baby without physically being next to them. Your first choice is an audio only monitor. They’re inexpensive and these days, they work with DECT technology, just like a cordless phone  – remember those? Your second choice is a video baby monitor. These also use DECT technology, along with a few that use newer technology you’ve probably heard of — Bluetooth. It’s how your phone connects to your car’s speaker. Your baby monitor camera sends the video it’s live streaming to your handheld viewing device. Your third option is a WiFi Baby Monitor.

How do WiFi baby monitors work?
WiFi monitors were created so that parents could have a very extended range. With DECT or
Bluetooth technology, your monitor is going to have limited range – within the house or maybe into the yard, but not much further (though occasionally you might hear your neighbor’s monitor – or they may hear yours!) With WiFi technology, you can basically use your baby monitor anywhere you can watch cat videos on your phone. You can check in on your sleeping baby and babysitter while at the office.

However many parents wonder if safe WiFi monitors exist, and rightfully so. With stories like this one about a man hacking a wi-fi baby monitor, they are concerned about security and baby monitor vulnerabilities.

When shopping for safe wifi baby monitors, what should I look for?
The first thing you’ll want to ask yourself is whether or not you will want a separate, handheld receiving device. Traditional audio and video monitors have always come with a receiving device because of of the dedicated technology. With WiFi monitors, many brands connect the camera directly with your smartphone. They’re taking advantage of the fact that smartphones today have exceptional resolution and clarity, are always on us and are easy to charge. You no longer have to search your house for the place you left your handheld receiver or check if it’s charged.

The second thing you’ll want to review are any speciality features. Features like smart wake up logging and shared access just weren’t possible with the dedicated monitors, but are becoming available on WiFi monitors.

The third thing you need to know when shopping for safe WiFi monitors are any product’s vulnerabilities. We hear of stories every so often about a baby monitor getting hacked, like in this 2018 article from NPR. Check with the vendor that the monitor doesn’t ship with a default password. Make sure that access to the video stream is password-protected even inside your house, and all communication takes place over secure connections. If your monitor offers shared access with other family members or caregivers, you should have control over their access at all times.

Do WiFi monitors give off radiation that can hurt your baby?
WiFi monitors use the same WiFi that’s probably already in your house. With any radio source, whether it’s an older DECT monitor or a Bluetooth monitor or WiFi, if you’re concerned about radiation the best thing to do is keep the transmitter as far from the baby as you can. In fact monitors should be at least 3 ft (1 m) away from the crib to prevent the baby from grabbing onto any cables or wires anyway, so physical distance is the all-round winning tip for safety.

safe wifi monitors

Are there certain types of WiFi monitors that are less secure and that can be hacked?
Absolutely. The fact is that it is easy to hack some WiFi monitors because some companies don’t pay attention to security. There are a couple of things you need to look for when researching safe WiFi baby monitors:

  • Credentials. “Credentials” are the unique username and password that you use to access your email, your FB, and hopefully your baby monitor. Have you ever set up a device where the sticker on the back said “Username: Admin” and “Password: Admin”? Those are easy to remember and easy to type in, but they mean that anyone can type in the same credentials and access your device.
  • Extraneous Programs. One of the most common weaknesses that allows a hacker to take over a baby monitor is if the baby monitor ships with programs that are open to the internet but are insufficiently protected. Sometimes these programs might be part of the way the baby monitor is meant to work and other times were only meant for the research and development phase. Either way these “backdoors” are dangerous and your vendor should be able to guarantee the monitor doesn’t have any.
  • Encryption. You might worry that even if someone can’t break in to your baby monitor because you set up strong credentials, and the monitor doesn’t ship with weakly protected programs, someone might still be able to spy on your family by eavesdropping on the monitor when you are using it. Encryption protects against the eavesdroppers.

How do I know if I am getting a safe wifi monitor?

  • Make sure your device doesn’t ship to you with default credentials. If the first step in setting up your monitor is entering something like “password1234”, DO NOT CONTINUE.
  • Make sure that your home network includes strong credentials. If someone can guess your WiFi password, not just your baby monitor security but all your computer and phone security could be at risk.
  • Finally, do a google search to see if your baby monitor brand has been listed in any recent articles about security. Read the reviews. Look for expert advice from Gugu Guru. And if you have any questions, reach out to the brand’s support.

What type are the most secure and safe WiFi baby monitors?
To sum it up:

  • A monitor that ships without generic credentials.
  • A monitor where you control access.
  • A monitor that doesn’t include extra, unnecessary programs.
  • A monitor that allows you to set up strong credentials.
  • And buy from a brand that cares about security and stays on top of any vulnerabilities.

Gugu Guru loves Evoz because it checks off all of these boxes.

DIY Circular Playmat with See Kate Sew

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

See Kate Sew partners with Gugu Guru once again to share a fantastic DIY tutorial. This time? A DIY circular playmat. This tutorial features Tranquilo Mat. Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win one of these soothing, sleep miracles at the end of this post.

I’m excited to be back on Gugu Guru today with a new baby and a new sewing tutorial! You can check out more sewing and crafts at SeeKateSew.com! Today’s tutorial is a circular playmat that you can whip up in an hour! This playmat is great for throwing on the floor for tummy time and stashing in a diaper bag for outings. We use this playmat paired with the Tranquilo Mat to make tummy time pleasant for everyone! You can read my review of the Tranquilo Mat over at See Kate Sew today and download the free printable pattern for this playmat!

I used high contrast fabrics for the mat and it’s reversible! The high contrast will keep baby’s attention which I always find to be calming for them! This playmat finishes about 3′ across, which is a perfect size for a newborn baby. I’m guessing we’ll be able to use this until she crawls! I added a fringe trim around the edges which gives it a fun, modern twist!

Materials//

-1 yard cotton fabric
-1 yard cotton contrast cotton
-1 yard batting
-2″ black fringe trim
–Free Pattern download

INSTRUCTIONs//

Use 1/2″ seam allowance.

Download the pattern pdf and print off the pattern piece at 100% (DO NOT SCALE). The file will print on 6 pages. Trim the extra space around the pages and tape them together like this:

Cut out the pattern piece.

Fold 1 yard of fabric in half longways and then in half again the other way so you have a little corner of fabric. There will be fabric folds on two sides of the fabric. Place the pattern piece corner (where it says ‘6’) right on that corner and pin it to the fabric.

Cut out 1 piece from each fabric and 1 piece from batting.

Pin the batting to the back of the front fabric.

Pin the fringe trim around the front piece, with the fringe facing towards the middle of the mat.

Lay the front and back fabric together, with right sides together (the batting will be on the back of one of these pieces). Sew together at 1/2″ around the circle, leaving a 4″ opening for turning.

Turn the whole thing right side out and press the edges well. Then topstitch 1/4″ from the fringe. Add a little X of stitching in the middle of the mat to keep the layers together.

5 Working & Pumping Mom Must-Haves

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

It’s time to talk working & pumping mom must-haves because we have a feeling that might apply to most of our readers. Are you planning to return to work after baby? You’re not alone. At Gugu Guru, our users take a quiz to tell us about their lifestyle and we see that over 80% of our mama community plans to go back to work after maternity leave.

Going back to work after baby can be challenging, especially for mothers who wish to continue nursing, so at Gugu Guru we are always on the look-out for products and services that make the transition more smooth. In this post, we put together a list of some of our favorite products – from both new and classic brands – for working mamas, especially pumping mamas.

Working & Pumping Mom Must-Haves

Zohzo Lauren Breast Pump Bag
While there are a lot of great breast pump bags out there, we like the Zohzo because its large compartment is big enough to fit most brands of pumps. Plus it offers a ton of pockets for organization of both your pumping items and work stuff – including your laptop. Note: you’ll also need an insulated cooler bag for storage (we like the Skip Hop Grab & Go insulated baby bottle bag.)

Working & Pumping Mom Must-Haves

Ollie Gray Anywhere Bra
The team at Gugu Guru is SO digging this new brand founded by a husband and wife team looking to develop a super comfortable and stylish nursing & pumping bra. They teamed up with a former designer from Lululemon to create a gorgeous athleisure-inspired and, more importantly, highly functional line of bras.

Working & Pumping Mom Must-Haves

Nanobebe
The Nanobebe feeding system is the ultimate for working, pumping mamas. The bottle itself is designed to preserve the nutrients in breastmilk. We also love that you can store and stack the bottles. Also key for working parents is that the Nanobebe bottles have a very high acceptance rate because they’re so breast-like.

Working & Pumping Mom Must-Haves

Cache Coeur Curve Reusable Nursing Pads
These nursing pads are super absorbent, while also being virtually invisible – plus, they stay in place. The affordable Curve pads come in two sizes – day and night. We love that because they’re reusable and OEKO-TEX certified, these pads are truly eco-friendly and sustainable.

Are you a working parent or parent-to-be? Don’t forget to check out these services for busy professional parents too.

This New Travel Car Seat is a Total Game Changer

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Looking for the best travel car seat for your toddler to use on planes, trains and automobiles? We’ve got you, boo.

Every once in awhile, we get really, really excited about a new piece of baby gear and this is definitely one of those times. (Plus we are even more excited to share that we have a 40% OFF limited offer for our readers but more on that in a second.)

Meet the Pico travel car seat from WAYB (rhymes with “baby”.) Here at Gugu Guru we think the Pico from WAYB is kind of a big deal and we bet you will too. This innovative and totally game-changing travel car seat is intended for 2-5 year olds and designed to make any on-the-go parent’s life a heck of a lot easier.

travel car seat brand new pico

What first struck us as super cool about the WAYB brand is that it was co-founded by the former CEO of Patagonia. When you think about the fact that parents and caregivers need durable, high-quality gear for navigating life with baby – it makes total sense that someone with experience in outdoor gear can probably help in that department, especially if he or she is a parent. What we also love is that Patagonia is a brand known for its commitment to our planet and those values have clearly transferred over to the WAYB brand.

Aside from their experience with gear, the entire WAYB team is comprised of parents who love to travel and who have a mission to reimagine and improve on the baby gear that’s out there. They want to make it more durable, lightweight, sustainable and just easier for caregivers all-around and we are pretty pumped about that.

The company’s first product, the WAYB Pico, was actually inspired by watching parents struggling in the airport. We’re intimately familiar with that struggle at Gugu Guru because many of us have experienced lugging a heavy car seat around to either check with our luggage in a giant, oversized bag or, worse, dragging it through security with all the other kid stuff you need to bring on the plane from diapers to snacks to ensure your flight goes smoothly.

travel car seat Pico foldedTo make life easier, the WAYB Pico travel car seat was designed to be easy to carry, stow, fold and take wherever parents or caregivers go – and we love that. However, that’s not the reason why we consider this car seat a game-changer. It’s how the Pico is constructed that makes all the difference. The aerospace-grade aluminum frame makes it ultralight at under 8lbs and instead of using typical car seat foams that can be full of toxins, WAYB made the Pico with a high-performance, comfortable mesh fabric instead.

What’s more is that Pico passes the same U.S. safety standards for cars and planes as big, heavy car seats, but it’s way better for people and the planet. ‘Nuff said.

With the holidays right around the corner, if you have a toddler age 2 to 5 years old and you’re looking for a travel car seat that breaks the mold with its lightweight features and sustainable, eco-friendly construction – look no further than the WAYB Pico.  Go to this link to get your limited offer 40% discount for Gugu Guru readers of $209 (but hurry up because there are only limited quantities available at this price. Otherwise the non-discounted MSRP is $350.) You can learn more about WAYB on their website, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Best Baby Gear & Strollers for Tall Parents

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

Today, we cover the best baby gear and strollers for tall parents. At Gugu Guru, we always say that selecting the right baby gear for your lifestyle depends on a lot of factors. Aside from the obvious things like budget, there are things like your height that can make a big difference in terms of the baby gear that we would recommend to you.

We were excited to work with actor and new dad Sarunas Jackson of HBO’s hit series Insecure on recommending some of the baby gear and strollers for tall parents like him. Sarunas is a towering 6’8 and while you or your partner may not be that tall, these product picks are definitely something to consider if you’re simply taller than average.

Gugu Pick: Best Strollers for Tall Parents
For a taller parent, we pick the Stokke Xplory as one of the best strollers for tall parents. Baby is up higher to parent than any other stroller to promote eye-contact. An additional bonus to the height is that the taller parent won’t kick the stroller when walking.  Another  one of the the best strollers for tall parents would be the Bumbleride Indie, as the handlebar goes up to 45.5″.

Gugu Pick: Best Car Seat for Tall Parents
Yes, there is a car seat that is great for tall parents – but probably not for the reason you think.  It has nothing to do with the handle.  It’s that the Cybex Aton is more compact and therefore gives up to 5″ more of legroom than other car seats. This means tall parents riding in front, can still have the seat back.

Gugu Pick: Best Baby Seat / Bouncer for Tall Parents
For Sarunas, we recommended the Skip Hop Uplift Multi-Level Adjustable Bouncer for his daughter. This is a bouncer that he can adjust the height on and bring his daughter up closer to his level.

Gugu Pick: Best Carrier for Tall Parents
For parents and caregivers with longer torsos, we love the BABYBJÖRN Carrier One. This ergonomic carrier is super comfortable – regardless of your height – and offers four front and back carrying positions.

Gugu Pick: Best High Chair for Tall Parents
When it comes to feeding time in a tall parent household, our picks would be the Bloom Fresco or Mima Moon high chair. Both chairs go higher than others to accommodate bar height. Not to mention they’re both incredibly sleek and contemporary in design.

Gugu Pick: Best Diaper Pail for Tall Parents
The Bubula diaper pail is taller than most others and specifically 3″ taller than other leading diaper pails. This means that tall parents don’t have to bend over as far. Another option is the Munchkin Step which is 2″ taller.

Gugu Pick: Best Baby Changing Station for Tall Parents
You can adjust Stokke Care Changing Station to be taller (up to 38″) than the standard changing table or standard dresser so tall parents can save their backs by not having to bend over as far.

Natural, On-the-Go Parenting Registry Picks

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

The Gugu Guru team was so excited to work with Amber & Andrew West on preparing for their baby’s arrival and we’re thrilled to share some of our top natural, on-the-go parenting registry picks with you here.

At Gugu Guru, we recognize that every family is unique and that what works for one might not work for the other. We had to get to know Amber & Andrew before we pointed them to the products that are a best fit. The first step we take when working with any expectant parents is to have them take our free, fun lifestyle quiz. One of the most obvious things we took note of when reviewing Amber’s profile was definitely the very high importance she places on natural and organic products. Another key detail is that Andrew and Amber are on-the-go quite often and are frequent travelers.

Here are some of our top natural, on-the-go parenting registry picks for various categories:

feeding products for natural, on-the-go parenting registry picks

Feeding

  • Dr. Brown’s Options™ Complete Baby Bottle Gift Set – if you keep up with Gugu Guru, you know that this set is our Gugu Pick for best bottle. The BPA-free Options Bottles are the baby market’s first convertible bottle that can be used with or without the vent system. Options bottles also fit most breast pumps, making them the best baby bottles for pumping moms as well.
  • Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair – from one of our all-time favorite eco-friendly brands, Stokke’s Tripp Trapp high chair is made of solid European beech wood. Its intelligent design grows with your child, providing a comfortable, ergonomic seat at any age. It has been made to fit right up to your dining table to bring your baby into the heart of your family, allowing your little boy or girl to eat, learn, play and develop alongside you.
  • MumMum 4-in-1 Baby Food Maker – We love this food maker that allows you to steam, heat, cook, blend & defrost all from one small appliance. The easily accessible water tank allows you to fill and clean water reservoir without any mess. This also limits the possibility of any bacteria or rust buildups in the tank.
  • Real Baby Food and Baby-Led Feeding books by Jenna Helwig – Both books are absolute musts for parents wanting to prepare natural, nutritious foods and establish healthy mealtime routines for their children.
  • Sinkboss – We are pretty obsessed with this brand new product that creates a physical barrier between kitchenware and the potentially contaminated sink basin. If you’re on the go as often as Amber & Andrew, you’ll appreciate that it’s portable, lightweight & compact.

A Safety Focused Rainbow Registry

by Gugu Guru Leave a Comment

We felt very honored to work with Jordan DeRosier on a safety focused rainbow registry. As you may have read in the media, Jordan is a mother who lost her son, Sloan, at 7 months old due to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) in July of 2017. Since Sloan’s death, Jordan has been actively sharing her story to help promote safe sleep practices with new parents.

Gugu Guru worked with Jordan to help her prepare for her rainbow baby girl, Phoenix, born in May. We both worked together to take special consideration for safe sleep products and brands who have made it a core part of their missions to promote baby safety.

Here are just some of the brands and products that we selected for her.  You can see Jordan’s full safety focused rainbow registry here.

ergoPouch – ergoPouch is an Australian company, renowned for high quality, innovative and award-winning baby Swaddles, Sleeping Bags, Sleep Suit Bags, Winter Sleep Suits and Layers (PJ’s) to complement the organic and sleep-safe Sleeping Bag range. Safety is at the forefront of mind when designing an ergoPouch product. All ergoPouch sleepwear go through product safety standard testing as required by Australian law and products are designed for safe sleeping according to Australian SIDs guidelines.

MAM – MAM’s number priority is to deliver safety to babies and infants with products that are functional, comfortable and safe. Since MAM developed its first pacifier in Vienna in 1976, the company has evolved to become a globally trusted baby care brand. The market leader for pacifiers in the U.S., each year more than 19 million MAM pacifiers are sold to U.S. consumers. MAM pacifiers are extensively tested undergoing 40 different tests before being made available for sale.

Baby Merlin – As a parent, Maureen Howard’s highest priority is the safety and well being of her children. The Magic Sleepsuit was designed and is manufactured with safety as a top priority. Every shipment of Magic Sleepsuits undergoes extensive safety lab testing and quality control inspection.

Delta Children – Delta Children offers safe, high quality nursery furniture, strollers, bassinets and other baby and toddler products. Safety is Delta Children’s #1 priority. Each Delta Children product is designed and engineered with the highest quality in order to guarantee that it exceeds internationally recognized standards and methods of testing before it hits the sales floor and enters your home.

Colgate Mattress – Founded in 1955, Colgate produces some of the highest quality crib mattresses anywhere. The company has made the health and safety of babies their primary focus and have worked tirelessly to earn the trust of parents. Colgate mattresses are made with the finest, non-toxic materials in the marketplace and have been awarded the GREENGUARD Gold certification. Find out more about how Colgate makes the safest crib mattresses here.

QuickZip – Your baby spends up to 15 hours a day sleeping. His crib sheet should be as safe as his car seat. QuickZip has reinvented the crib sheet; enclosing the entire mattress so that it can’t be pulled off and won’t pop off accidentally becoming a hazard that could interfere with your baby’s breathing.

Owlet – Check on baby without disturbing his or her sleep. The Owlet Smart Sock tracks heart and oxygen levels and sends real-time insights to your phone. It also includes a base station which glows green to reassure you baby is okay but will notify you if heart rate and oxygen levels leave preset zones.

UPPAbaby – UPPAbaby products meet the most stringent industry standards required by the Juvenile Product Manufacturing Association (JPMA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The UPPAbaby VISTA bassinet turns the stroller into a baby buggy. With just one hand, you can detach the Bassinet and carry your sleeping infant anywhere. The flat, firm surface meets AAP safe sleep standards. Plus, the Bassinet converts into a perfect overnight sleep solution with the stand.

Molly’s Suds – Molly’s Suds was founded after the stillbirth of founder Monica’s daughter Molly. Monica, a pediatric nurse, yearned to know what could have caused her daughter’s stillbirth. During her research, she uncovered a disturbing fact: in the United States alone 80,000 chemicals were approved for use by the Toxic Substances Control Act and yet only 200 of the toxins were tested for human safety. All Molly’s Suds products are formulated with a ‘no compromise’ attitude when it comes to using pure, safe ingredients. The brand uses earth and plant-derived ingredients to enhance efficiency and cut down on cleaning time without compromising your family’s health through exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals and carcinogens.

BreathableBaby – At BreathableBaby, safety is the company’s top priority. Safety is the starting point for product design, and the brand takes extra steps (like consulting with doctors and rigorously testing our products) to make sure all of their safer sleep solutions are dependable enough for your family. The company is proud to not only meet but also exceed all relevant product safety standards. BreathableBaby’s research is helping to make products safer across the board, too.

Micuna –  Spain-based Micuna is a global leader in the manufacturing of furniture and accessories for babies and children. Recognized for their commitment to design, quality and safety of its products, Micuna was one of the first Spanish companies to comply with the high standards of European quality and safety. Micuna products are crafted with eco-friendly practices and materials including wood obtained from sustainable forests.

bblüv – bblüv believes in quality products that are safe, durable, attractive and make life easier. The company puts a great deal of effort in the design of our products so you can be assured that what enters your home will make your and your baby’s life simpler.

Finn + Emma –  Finn + Emma offers modern, high quality and 100% organic clothes and toys for baby. Boring designs and toxic chemicals are a thing of the past while modern colors, fresh prints and heirloom quality construction are abundant.

Lorena Canals – At Lorena Canals, quality and safety start at the source, in their manufacturing process. The products are constructed with natural fibers, are anti-allergic, eco friendly, use natural dyes and 100% Cotton textiles. The brand prides itself on quality in every aspect of production, from the best raw materials to socially responsible labor practices. Its rugs and accessories are available in a wide variety of designs, colors and sizes, making them suitable for any room.

Solly Baby – At Solly Baby, closeness is what matters. The power of touch, the strength in being together, the comfort given just by being near, and that the most enduring relationships are not only in love but in experiencing life together. Solly Baby wraps seamlessly and luxuriously integrate all of the benefits of baby wearing while holding baby wearing safety above all else. Their on-staff baby wearing educator is readily available to offer one-one-one advice via email and you can also find her every week on FB Live sharing tips and tutorials.

aden + anais – Safety is top of mind when developing the aden + anais product range. Each and every product goes through a rigorous course of testing before hitting the market. Whether it’s through eliminating loose blankets in the crib with sleeping bags, knowing the correct way to swaddle or removing all harsh ingredients from our skin care collection, aden + anais strives to make sure the brand influences families to build the safest environments for their babies.
