Getting a Breast Pump Through Insurance with Acelleron

by Christine Swearingen Leave a Comment

One of the most common questions we often receive is, “How do I pick a breast pump, and is it covered under insurance?” As a new parent, or pregnant parent, the task of figuring out not only which breast pump to get, but how to go through your insurance, can be incredibly daunting. This is why we’re excited to introduce you to Acelleron, a health and wellness company specializing in helping pregnant and nursing women qualify for their breast pump through insurance and the Affordable Care Act. We highly recommend checking out Acelleron and letting them take you by the hand through this often confusing process!

Insurance eligibility:

In most cases, new mothers are covered for a free breast pump through insurance anywhere from a few months before baby is born up to 1 year after birth (i.e. throughout their breastfeeding journey). This is a good rule of thumb to go by, however, the exact time period depends on your particular insurance plan.

Navigating Acelleron’s website:

The Acelleron website features breast pumps from top brands such as Medela, Spectra, Lansinoh, Cimilre, and more, even Elvie and Willow! When you visit the website, you will fill out a simple form to view which breast pumps are eligible under your specific insurance plan. If you would like help navigating, Acelleron has a live chat where a specialist is ready to assist you or you their customer care line at 877-932-6327! They do everything they can to help you find the best breast pump for your needs and lifestyle.

Steps to take:

Step 1: Fill out the page below to determine your pump options.

Step 2: View pumps and make your selection. You can filter by brand, price (fully covered or upgrade) or features such as pumps with a rechargeable battery and an LCD screen. This is super helpful for the expectant mom to narrow down her pump options.

We love that Acelleron personalizes the selection process by allowing moms to choose the features that are most important to them! Everything about ordering is hassle-free! Check out this amazing and handy breast pump selection guide to help you better understand the different types of breast pumps, brands, key features, and more!

What Acelleron can do for you:

  • Verify your eligibility for a breast pump through your insurance plan
  • Contact your physician for a prescription
  • Recommend the best breast pump for your lifestyle and breastfeeding goals
  • Recommend supplies and accessories that will benefit your pumping experience

Why Expectant Moms Love this Brand

by Jenna Hatfield Leave a Comment

Whether you’re breastfeeding, formula feeding, or a mix of both, nanobebe offers great feeding gear for all moms and babies. You’ll love how easy they make feeding, with everything from bottles to warmers to storage to diaper bags. We’ve compiled a list of our favorites to help you get started.

Nanobebe Bottles

Nanobebe Breastmilk Baby Bottle – $10.99

If you’re breastfeeding, the Banobebe Breastmilk Baby Bottle is definitely one you want to have on hand. It’s the only bottle specifically designed for the breastfeeding baby. It encourages smooth transitions between breast and bottle due to its unique shape. Additionally, it boasts an anti-colic nipple, reduces hot spots in warmed milk, and even comes with a breast pump adapter to pump directly into the bottle. As an added bonus, the bottles are stackable for easy storage.

Nanobebe Flexy Silicone Baby Bottle – $12.99

Coming in at the largest size, the Flexy Silicone Bottle still offers that anti-colic nipple. It features three vents to keep the nipple from collapsing while your baby is eating. This bottle has a stable base and handles, which are sold separately, so your baby can learn to feed on their own. You can read more about the Flexy here.

Feeding Gear

Nanobebe Breast Milk Storage Bags – $9.99

We mentioned these in our round-up of items for National Breastfeeding Month, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t remind you about them. Flat breastmilk storage bags are genius enough, but these stack so well in the organizer. Anything that makes organizing easier is something we can champion!

Nanobebe Microwave Steam Sterilizer – $24.99

Parents of newborns are justly concerned about sterilizing their babies’ feeding items. Nanobebe made it easy with this microwave sterilizer. It helps eliminate 99.9% of all household germs in less than four minutes. If you leave the lid on after sterilizing in the microwave, items under the bubble will stay sterilized for up to 24 hours. This piece of gear will help save time and give you peace of mind.

Nanobebe Diaper Bags

nanobebe Bebe Backpack – $39.99

Nanobebe Bebe Backpack

This backpack style of diaper bag from Nanobebe offers many benefits to parents. The gender neutral aspect of the backpack makes it easy for any parent to carry. Additionally, as the weight is distributed evenly across your shoulders, you won’t be thrown off balance to one side or the other like with a traditional strap style diaper bag. That way you can chase your toddler, carry your baby, and not worry about your diaper bag. This one is roomy, with lots of outer and inner pockets for easy organization on the go.

Nanobebe Travel Cooler – $10.99

Travel Cooler

While not a full diaper bag, the Nanobebe Travel Cooler is definitely a bag you want to have on hand. It features three layers of insulation to keep milk either cool or warm while you’re out and about. You can stack three of the Nanobebe Breastmilk Bottles in the bag along with a few extra accessories like pacifiers in the extra room. We love that you can connect the strap to your stroller or even your Nanobebe Bebe Backpack.

We have many other Nanobebe products in our marketplace, so be sure to check them out.

Thank you to Nanobebe for making this sponsored post possible.

Real Moms Tell Why The Boon GRUB is a Gamechanger

by Christine Swearingen Leave a Comment

The Boon GRUB is sleek in style with all the features you really want in a high chair. From a removable tray, seat pad, and seat that are all dishwasher friendly. Adjustable legs, tray, and footrest to give your child a custom fit and ensures you can use it from the countertop to the table. When your little one outgrows the baby high chair, the GRUB transforms into the perfect toddler chair. For only $149 with all these features, this high chair is a home run. Read on for some real mom reviews and see what they loved about this high chair.

Monique A. – Baby: 15 months

This High Chair was easy to put together, it took under a half hour. The directions were not the greatest, but we made it work. Once together there were some features we truly enjoyed. We loved how washable it all is, we loved the different levels of the chair, the footstool, and the straps to keep him in. Those straps were so easy and secure especially when needing to keep him safe once we removed the tray. It took a few trials to figure out how to easily remove the tray, but now I think we have it. At first, it was frustrating once we removed the tray because we had nowhere to put it, but then we figured out that it fits so easily underneath the seat. The only issue we have is we wish the tray could lock into place in the last slot. We cannot comfortably get our guy in and out of the seat without taking off the tray.

All in all we really love this high chair for all the reasons we stated above.  We would highly recommend this chair as it is safe, sleek, easy to clean and grows with your child.

Christine Benton – Baby: 10 months

As a first time mom, I am always looking for products that are easy to use and more importantly easy to clean. The Boon high chair definitely hits both of those marks. We already use other Boon baby products, so it definitely makes sense to expand into this area now that our son is feeding himself. My favorite feature of the high chair is the fact that it can go into the dishwasher. Although I will likely hand wash often, the fact that it can be deep cleaned in the dishwasher when needed is clutch. There seem to also be very little crevices that food can get stuck in which is very important for me.

Overall, the all white chair is very sleek, which works well with our kitchen. It was fairly easy to assemble and adjust as needed. I do wish the high chair was a little easier to collapse or you could remove the legs to easily transport. As my son continues to grow I like that this chair has the option to also convert into a toddler seat. It seems like a product we will be able to use for several years which is definitely something I consider before purchasing baby or toddler products.

Thank you to Boon Inc. for making this sponsored post possible!

Add to Registry: Toki Mats

by Jenna Hatfield Leave a Comment

What if you could combine your baby’s safety, cute photo opportunities, and comfort with an easy to care for product—and more? It would feel like something you wanted to add to your registry, wouldn’t it? And that’s just what Toki Mats are: a must-have product for your baby.

Toki Mats bring modern style to the traditional playmat. The prints and colors are much more subtle than bright, primary color schemes we’re so used to seeing in products for our little ones. Your baby will be comfortable and secure as well; Toki Mats have a one-inch certified natural latex foam insert and 100% cotton fabric covers to give your baby a soft, safe place to play and rest.

Toki Mats check all the boxes for parents with sustainability and safety in mind. They’re made from natural, organic materials, making them safe and chemical free. We know how important this is for parents, which is why it makes it the top selling point. But the benefits keep coming.

Another set of benefits we love is how the mat folds easily and is even washable. That way you can clean up any messes from your day of play before you store it. Your baby can play, roll, and rest in any room of your home, even those with hardwood floors. You can even take it along with you on your family getaways, giving your baby a comfy place to practice tummy time in the hotel, the playground while bigger siblings climb and play, and even on the sand for your next beach vacation. The possibilities are endless.

So, what’s our favorite part about Toki Mats? Oh, just how cute these playmats truly are! When you stop and look at how the many stylish prints Toki Mats come in, you’ll fall in love, too. Some of our favorites are Arches in White, Rainbow Watercolor, and the gorgeous Lunar Phases that we’re featuring in this post. You can find one that flows with your home décor, bringing a modern flair to your baby’s gear. As an added tip, they also sell covers to expand your print options.

You’ll want to add Toki Mats to your registry to get one before your bundle of joy arrives. They run $165 and imagine taking your newborn’s monthly photos through their first birthday with their stylish playmat as the background. You’ll get a lot of use out of Toki Mats throughout your baby’s first year.

Thank you to Toki Mats for making this sponsored post possible.

5 Best Lightweight Travel Strollers

by Jenna Hatfield Leave a Comment

Whether you’re traveling for the first time as a parent or you’re an old pro at bringing along little ones on your world adventures, you won’t regret adding a travel stroller to your list of things to pack.

A travel stroller is smaller and more compact than your everyday stroller. However, it’s also a bit bigger and more rugged than an umbrella stroller, making it a better choice for different terrains. The travel stroller still offers a bit of storage and a few amenities like cup holders while also folding compact. All of the strollers we’re recommending fold down to carry-on size to fit in almost all overhead bins on planes.

We’ve included the weight of the stroller and the max child weight it can carry after each review to help you make the best decision for your upcoming travels.

The Traveler by ZOE

While we’re not sure what the budget-friendly Traveler by ZOE has done to be labeled “Disney Approved,” but if you’re heading there, you might want to grab this handy travel stroller. It’s another easy-fold option that quickly snaps down to standard carry-on size. We love that it comes in eight fun colors (and even a camo print) along with a UPF 50+ 4-panel extendable canopy. Your little one will be safe from the sun and heat while you traverse the happiest place on Earth!

Child weight max: 45lbs
Stroller weight: 11lbs

Real Mom Review of an everyday ZOE Stroller we adore >

The Chit Chat by Larktale

If you’re looking for something a little fancier, you can’t go wrong with The Chit Chat by Larktale. The Cottesloe Cream version feels very classy and it comes in five other colors. It folds down into standard carry-on size, but it comes with a carrying strap as a bonus. Plus, it pushes like a much larger stroller, making it great for vacations with loads of activity.

Child weight max: 55lbs
Stroller weight: 14.5lbs

Also, new for 2023, they have launched an entire new line of INCREDIBLE stroller wagons. Not as lightweight, but worth checking out for longevity and versatility.

Pockit+ All Terrain Stroller from gb

If you’re wanting super lightweight and a bit of a techy feel, The Pockit+ All Terrain Stroller from gb is the one for you. It’s the lightest travel stroller we’re featuring, coming in 9.5 pounds. At under 10 lbs, this stroller will still amazingly hold up to 55lbs!

Child weight max: 55lbs
Stroller weight: 9.5lbs

Silver Cross Jet

Looking for something that will hold up to loads of trips, takes a car seat, and is easy on the eyes? The Silver Cross Jet is exactly this and more. Newborn compatible from day one with its near-flat recline, this stroller is great for airports, city streets, and quick errands. Unlike some other travel strollers, the canopy also has a pop-out visor to add to its UPF50+ protection. Silver Cross prides itself on high-quality strollers and what the Jet lacks in weight, it makes up for in functionality.

Child weight max: 55lbs
Stroller weight: 13.6 lbs

BABYZEN YOYO2

We’d be remiss if we didn’t share the BABYZEN YOYO2. It’s beautiful, complete with a UPF and water-repellent sunshade as well as compatibility with some infant car seats. Add the newborn pack to offer functionality from day one and YOYO2 becomes the only stroller you’ll ever need. Additionally, the stroller folds and unfolds in seconds, making it the perfect choice for busy urban families and travel. Speaking of the fold, you can easily push the stroller right onto the airplane before popping it in the overhead compartment for takeoff.

Child weight max: 39.7 lbs (US weight limit)
Stroller weight: 13.6 lbs

These five lightweight travel strollers will help you get through subways, airports, and busy streets. Whether you go for a fun, bright color or the most compact fold, your family will definitely be traveling in style.

Bringing the Whole Family Together: Nomi by Evomove

by Christine Swearingen Leave a Comment

Family meals are so important for building unity and wholesomeness in a family. Even before your child starts solids, it’s vital for them to be a part of family bonding at mealtime. It also piques their interest in what everyone else is eating! Nomi by Evomove allows you to bring your new baby into such family settings right from day one and it grows with your baby and evolves with your child’s changing needs for support at the family table.

Nomi Baby is a bouncer accessory for the Nomi High Chair stem that brings baby to table height and can be used for newborns to around 6 months. Baby can interact with the family at the dining table from birth, rather than being down on the floor in a traditional bouncer or put in a bouncer on the kitchen counter which can be dangerous. Nomi Baby’s raised height is ideal for keeping good eye contact with your baby and it seamlessly adjusts from almost horizontal to more upright positions as baby grows. Moms swear by the lightweight Nomi Baby, as it’s easy to move around the house wherever they need an extra hand, making a quick shower, meal prep or even a little me-time possible.

When your baby is around 6 months old and is able to sit up on his/her own, it’s time to transition to the Nomi High Chair.  The ergonomic design features a low back and open sides that help your infant further develop their core muscles. The shape of the seat helps keep them in a safe upright position which decreases the risk of choking when starting solids. Wheels and extensions on the back feet reduce the risk of tipping over.

When children are exploring new foods, things can get messy! The innovative, sleek design of the Nomi High Chair doesn’t trap food. Simply wipe clean, and it weighs only 10.8 lbs. which makes it easy to move or hang up on your table, to clean under and around the table.

When your child outgrows the high chair, there’s no need to buy an additional booster seat.  At around 2 years old, you can transition your Nomi High Chair to the Nomi Chair, which is perfect for mealtime and other activities, such as homework or arts and crafts, and it holds up to 330 lbs. so it truly lasts a lifetime.

Nomi is a dream for parents with fidgety toddlers—the shape of the stem automatically adjusts both the seat and the footrest depth so your child is always comfortable, like you are in an adult chair.  No tools required, it does not get any easier!

Nomi is minimalistic, focusing on functionality and ensuring that your child is in the most comfortable, safe, and ergonomic position as they grow, from newborn to teenager and beyond.

Thank you to Nomi for making this sponsored post possible.

Real Mom Review: Thule Spring

by Christine Swearingen Leave a Comment

Some of our Village moms recently reviewed the Thule Spring, a fantastic everyday stroller, with a quick and easy one-hand fold for active parents and parents looking to downsize from a larger convertible stroller.

CeCe B. A.: Great news for tall parents! After a few weeks with our Thule, we are absolutely in love. The stroller itself is light, easy to maneuver, and quite intuitive to put together/ adjust— But the very best part are the strides that my husband (6’4”) and I (5’7”) can take while walking our daughter. Different from any other stroller we have tried, we have never once stepped on the undercarriage/basket or had to hold our arms at a weird angle to push. It’s the perfect take-anywhere stroller— Zoo, park, or even for pushing your tired child around the house 😉

Krysta H.: The Thule Spring is exactly the quality you would expect from the well-known outdoor brand.  The out-of-the-box setup was easy, intuitive, and straightforward.  The wheels handle all different terrains – road, sidewalk, woodchips, gravel, cobblestones, etc very well especially on large bumps where other strollers with 2 front wheels get caught up. The fold and unfold are simple and take seconds. It stores very flat compared to other strollers I have tried, however, the height is tall. We love the telescoping and cushioning on the handlebar.  The canopy is HUGE which my son loves to keep the sun out of his eyes, and I love for the UV protection and the vented mesh section lets us keep eyes on him. My 2.5-year-old loves how easy it is to climb into all by himself, and I love the 60lb weight limit which is higher than most comparable strollers.  The only negative is that my 5-year-old might outgrow the head height before the weight!

Ann L.:

Installation – The stroller came in a very sturdy box and was easy to open and remove the contents with only one adult. Minimal pieces and easy to understand instructions made putting the wheels on a breeze and it was fairly simple to figure out how to connect the canopy of the stroller.

Ease of use and size – The stroller is very versatile and can accommodate both my 7 month old baby and also my 4 year old toddler with no issues! I was at first admittedly intimidated by the five point harness but have grown quickly to love the design as it’s easy to get the baby out without twisting arms to get them out of loops like other strollers. Once familiar it’s really handy to get the bottom prongs in place and snap in the top two to secure. I was debating getting a double stroller now with two children but seeing as my toddler sometimes will want to walk this is great to have and works for both children, I am so happy with the single seat option. The stroller is light enough that I feel comfortable collapsing and storing it in the compact position by myself. Ideal for city living.

Suspension – stroller is easy to wheel around and the handle is great for taller and shorter adults to push. I found it easy to maneuver within my apartment halls, through doors, and also outside with a single hand, if needed. I also like the location of the safety break, red and easy to see. The stroller is pretty smooth and has minimal bumps on the city sidewalks.

Canopy and seat – This is one of the largest extending canopies I have seen in a stroller which is great! My previous stroller had s smaller canopy and didn’t always cover my child’s body and I was concerned about sun exposure. With the spring, I don’t worry about this and the peek a boo vent on top lets me see my child easily and create additional air circulation. The seat recline is one of the easiest to use just pinch and pull to adjust to a sitting or lie down position and various degrees which is nice because other strollers have preset angles which may not work for all situations.

Thank you to Thule for making this sponsored post possible.

Add to Your Registry: Boon GRUB Highchair

by Christine Swearingen Leave a Comment

High chairs are convenient for keeping your baby safe and your kitchen a little less dirty. Not all high chairs are created equal, though. These chairs come with a variety of different features, some of which can make your baby more comfortable and make cleaning easier. With the right high chair, mealtime can become a lot less stressful. You can spend less time on clean up and more time taking care of your baby. A quality high chair won’t only make parents’ lives easier, but also supports baby’s feeding development. Of the many high chairs available, the newest the best one on the market is the Boon GRUB High Chair ($149). Below are the top six features of the GRUB High Chair that will make you fall in love with this seat and never look back.

Top 6 GRUB High Chair Features

Easy to clean

When it comes to feeding your baby, you need a high chair that is easy to clean. The ability to quickly and easily clean your toddler’s chair is one of the most important features because let’s be honest – babies make a mess. The Boon High Chair makes cleaning as easy as possible with a detachable, dishwasher-safe seat and tray. You can remove the seat after a particularly messy meal and either rinse the chair under the sink or run it through the dishwasher depending on what you prefer. The quick and easy clean-up will save you a whole lot of time and give you fewer headaches moving forward. Plus, you’ll no longer dread dinner time.

Wipeable seat pad

A plastic high chair is easy to clean, but not particularly comfortable. That’s why the GRUB High Chair comes with a seat pad that will make your baby’s mealtimes more enjoyable. This isn’t just any seat pad, however, it’s a wipeable cushion. The Boon company understands the importance of easy clean-up, so all you have to do is pick up the seat cushion and wipe it off to remove any stray bits of food.

5-point harness

Toddlers manage to squirm their way out of various restraints, which is why the Boon High Chair is equipped with a 5-point harness. The five points will securely keep your baby in place, so you don’t have to worry about any accidents occurring.

Adjustable footrest

The GRUB High Chair is not a short-term seat for your baby. This chair is made for six-month-olds all the way up to six years old. The adjustable footrest can move down as your toddler grows. The chair legs can also be adjusted to accommodate table height and eventually to act as a regular chair for your child.

Integrated storage hook

It’s always hard to find a bib when you need one, which is why the Boon High Chair comes with an integrated storage hook conveniently located on the back of the seat. You can hang a bib or burp rag from the hook so one is always handy during meals and other messy moments.

Converts to toddler chair

Finally – for those minimalist parents who love longevity in their products, the Boon GRUB High Chair converts into a toddler chair for extended use – up to 50 pounds.

If you’re on the market for a new high chair, be sure to check out the new Boon GRUB. Available now in White with the charcoal chair available at the end of May 2021.

Thank you to Boon for making this sponsored post possible.
